She specializes in diversity, talent management and school culture, identity development, recruitment, and mission alignment. She also has experience working with educational nonprofit and for-profit organizations focused on social justice, access, and diversity. My core beliefs in education are based on the ideas of diversity, equity, access, and rigor. Finally, Abby also works as a marriage and family therapist. This work influences her coaching in the focus on the development of work/life balance and in the overall development and well-being of the founders Abby works with.
Education –
Dr. Abigail Hasberry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in African American Studies and Sociology from Towson University, a Master of Arts in K-12 education from Goucher College, a Master of Education degree in Counseling & Development- marriage & Family Therapy, a Master of Science degree in industrial/organizational psychology from Walden University (2024), and a PhD in curriculum and instruction from UNLV. Abby's doctoral research focused on the experiences of Black teachers in predominantly white and affluent private schools. She focused mainly on professional and racial identity development and coping strategies of professionals. As a school principal, one of Abby's strengths was developing her staff as people and professionals. Both interest areas add to her strengths as a leadership coach.
Leadership Coaching Goal–
Dr. Hasberry aims to provide leaders with the direction, support, and space to be vulnerable. She meets her clients where they are and believes in building on clients’ strengths and supporting their growth areas by enhancing their confidence, knowledge base, and network. The hour Abby spends with you is your hour. Abby provides assessments, resources, contacts, thought parenting, and strategic planning. Coaching is tailored to each client, allowing them to bring their authentic selves to the table.
In Her Own Words –
"I am really good at deeply understanding my clients’ passions and listening to the things that are not said. I am able to hear the needs in them as leaders, founders, and individuals. I pride myself at being able to actively listen and then partner in strategizing a plan. I am also my clients’ biggest cheerleader and problem solver all at once. I am an introvert and thus naturally connect very deeply with my clients from the beginning. I specialize in work/life balance, planning for diversity and inclusion, focusing on instructional leadership, creating school culture, leader and faculty identity development, hiring strategically, and aligning mission to school policies and procedures. I can support you as a thought partner, strategist, connector, mentor, and more, and I look forward to working with you."
